Such a little cutie...Ian and I were cuddling outside while the big kids played, he was very happy to watch the kids run back and forth and chew on his fingers. We are so excited to have Ian in our daycare family, he is a great addition to the crew!Friday, January 15, 2010
We want to welcome Ian to our daycare family!

This weeks theme was Polar Bears and Eskimos...the kids had a great time learning about cold, winter and the color white. They got to melt ice cubes with small prizes inside for a science experiment. Karen made a paste the kids were able to paint onto polar bears with their fingers and then add white glitter to make it look like snow, it was a great sensory experiment. We also were able to go outside and play in our tent "caves" when the weather was nice along with many other great activities!
The big kids Kris, Cash, Megan and Max all got to visit our friends at The Magic Years Daycare. They had invited a dentist and the tooth ferry to come and teach the kids all about brushing their teeth and what foods were good or bad for your teeth, it was a lot of fun and the kids did a great job listening and minding their manners.

Home made beads

The kids had a great time making their beads, first they had to roll out the little balls and then we baked them to harden. After a few days they got to paint them and string them into a necklace. Preschoolers learn many fine motor skills by doing these kind of activities, all the kids did great with this activity except some liked to try and eat the salt dough...yuck!
